Cyber | DB C3
Cyber | DB C3 is another powerful tool from Cyber-dynamics Inc. It keeps your Microsoft Access databases trim and efficient
with three basic functions:
- It Cleans. Cyber | DB C3 cleans and repairs minor problems with MS Access databases. This helps avert major problems
later on and makes databases more efficient.
- It Compacts. Cyber | DB C3 compacts databases, removing unnecessary junk which accumulates over time. This makes the
database smaller and faster to use.
- It Compresses. Cyber | DB C3 compresses databases for easy copying, moving and archiving/backup of database files.
Of course, it also uncompresses. When Cyber | DB C3 performs these operations, it automatically makes backup files to
help protect your important data.
Suggested system requirements:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 – see note 1 below.
- Microsoft Access 2000 – see note 2.
- 128 MB RAM or more.
- 1 GB free hard disk space – see note 3.
Note 1. Cyber | DB C3 will run on Windows 98, Windows ME, and Windows 2000 or later.
Note 2. Strictly speaking, you don’t need to have Access 2000 installed, but if you want to run Clean and
Compact, you must have one of Access, Office, Excel, Visual Basic, Visual C++ or the Microsoft Jet Engine installed.
Logically, of course, if you are working with database files, you will have Access installed.
Note 3. The Cyber | DB C3 program requires less than 10 megabytes of hard disk space for installation, and
subsequently only 2-3 megabytes for the program files. However, when it cleans and compacts and/or compresses databases
it needs to use additional hard disk space – equivalent to twice the size of the database you are working with.
Most important, remember that Windows works best when you have at least a gigabyte of free hard disk space.
